Daily Art Goals!

I have been lax in my daily art goals…even writing them out!¬†It needs to be

Daily Art Goals.

Notice the period.

So my plan is that I am going to start posting everyday what I have made and add a link for purchase. Everything that I have made and shown on this website is for sale and I need to start promoting that!

I prepped my paper this morning and I will be setting my alarm clock for 5 am and NOT TURNING IT OFF! Everyday I am going to work on painting or drawing. The goal is the creation of a new piece of artwork everyday. As I get previous work organized I will be putting that up for sale also.

Daily Art Update

I’ve continued working on my daily art practice. Whether I get up early and do something¬† before work or I touch base with my practice before I go to bed I have tried to do something everyday.

It is difficult to drag myself out of my comfy bed at 5 am but I really like some of the paintings that I have created in about 30 to 45 minutes. I have been more productive with my painting this year than I have been for years.

I have still been focusing on painting portraits.  I enjoy the challenge of capturing emotion and shapes in the short period of time.

This one was a bit of a happy accident. She started out with the yellow on her face an then all of the sudden I picked up blue and just decided to go with it.

I had previously painted this one but the image I had taken of it was super blurry. I decided that I was going to enhance the features with pencil crayon.

I may decide to do that further in other drawings that I am unsatisfied with.

I am kinda in love with this next one.

I even love her giant man hand!

I did a painting on canvas also. I might work a bit more on this one but for right now I am going to leave it.

I’ve also been using the time in the morning to work in my Inspiration Journal. They are a little more layered and take a bit more time. I think I like the spontaneity of the painting above.

The last two pictures are images that get created while everything else is also happening. I apply the excess paint get smashed onto new pages and have created some interesting effects.

A Month of Painting

Since the beginning of January iI have been painting daily. I get up at 5am from Monday to Friday and paint for half an hour to 45 minutes depending on how it is going.

This week has been the only time that I have just had to say “nope, not today”

Being sick this week has really knocked the wind out of me and so it decided that the best thing for me was to take a step back and get some extra sleep. I have two paintings that I completed on Monday and Tuesday but Wednesday,  Thursday and Friday I went back to bed.

Slowly I’m getting better so I hope to be back to normal next week and not spend my nights hacking up a lung!

I’m hoping tomorrow to be able to spend some time on my Inspiration book and on my Documented Life book. If I finish something I’ll post it tomorrow.
